Congratulations to Mendia Kermond, who was the recipient of this year’s $1000 Zonta Scholarship. The scholarship, generously donated by the Zonta Club of Central Coast, is awarded to a female Developing Artist currently studying at NAISDA to support her studies.
Zonta is a women’s international organisation that aims to “Advance the status of women both locally and internationally”. The organisation aims to empower women both professionally and personally through a number of fundraising initiatives, programs and advocacy activities.
NAISDA would like to thank the Zonta Club of Central Coast for their support and congratulate Mendia on receiving this scholarship. This is a wonderful initiative which provides important financial support, ensuring that our Developing Artists can continue to work toward their goals without added financial stress.
Zonta Central Coast fundraising supports a number of worthwhile initiatives, including local womens refuges, scholarships for female local High School students and a mature age female TAFE student, an educational program for a Young Parent group, provision of 4,000 birthing kits for international distribution, children’s books for local organisations and Aboriginal Literacy Foundation.
