NAISDA 2015 Graduation Ceremony - 12.04.16

On Thursday 7 April, NAISDA held its 2015 Graduation Ceremony at our Mt Penang Parklands campus. The event was a huge success with NAISDA’s Developing Artists showcasing their skills in a series of special performances throughout the Ceremony.

The Master of Ceremonies was independent performer, maker, collaborater and NAISDA alumni Ghenoa Gela, who entertained the crowd with stories of her own experiences at NAISDA. The graduates also heard inspiring words from Keynote Speaker and Bangarra Senior Dancer Elma Kris, who reminded our DAs to never say “I can’t”, as well as Rekindling Bangarra Youth Program Director, Sidney Saltner, who spoke of careers on the horizon.

The Ceremony was also an opportunity to officially launch NAISDA’s 40th Anniversary One Dreaming, Infinite Futures Program, marking a very special milestone in the College’s history.

We would like to take an opportunity to thank our esteemed special guests for attending the Ceremony and contributing to such a memorable day for all involved: Kevin (Gavi) Duncan, Ghenoa Gela, Bronwyn Chambers, Nyunggai Warren Mundine, Elma Kris, Frances Rings, Adam Crouch, MP Member for Terrigal, Associate Professor Nerida (Ned) Blair, Sidney Saltner, Senator Deborah O’Neill, Scot MacDonald MLC, Roy Ah See and the NAISDA Board.

We would also like to congratulate our five Diploma graduates Janelle Egan, Nadia Martich, Jordan O’Davis, Berthalia Reuben and Glory Tuohy-Daniell for their remarkable achievements throughout their time at NAISDA.
