On Monday 9 May 2016 our communities of the arts, culture and Australia remembered The Songman and Musical Director, Mr Page, of Bangarra Dance Theatre.
Mr Page, a proud Nunukul Munaldjali Man, was a teacher and mentor to many who have passed through the doors of NAISDA, and it was his passion that helped create many of today’s Indigenous artists. We pay our respects to this inspirational and influential figurehead of contemporary Australian Indigenous performing arts.
His artistic achievements will live on in our hearts and minds as we continue his legacy.
The NAISDA family, including the Board, staff and Developing Artists send our deepest sympathies to the Page and Bangarra families and join in remembering and celebrating the life of The Contemporary Songman.
