Rarriwuy Hick and the Chooky Dancers Second year student Rarriwuy Hick will be touring with the Chooky Dancers during much of 2010. They are touring with a play called the Wrong Skin, a Yolgnu version of the Romeo and Juliette story. In a fairytale twist, Rarriwuy was offered the role but turned it down to come to NAISDA to study. Nigel Jamieson came to NAISDA last year 2009 to observe the students in cultural classes and Rarriwuy was again chosen for the role. NAISDA has worked with Rarriwuy to ensure she will be able to combine the tour with her studies. NAISDA 2008 graduate Rosealee Pearson will be choreographing Wrong Skin. The play will open at the Adelaide Festival then tour to the Malthouse in Melbourne, the Darwin Festival and Sydney Opera House. Rarriwuy is the daughter of Janet Munyarryun, a founding member of Bangarra and a NAISDA tutor. All staff and developing artist wish you well Rarriwuy. Feel Like School Didn't Know What You Wanted? What Ghenoa Gela wanted from school was a life. But what she got was a series of dead-end jobs that didn't take her anywhere. And then Ghenoa heard about NAISDA Dance College. She auditioned, was accepted, and in 2005 became a developing artist at NAISDA. In April this year, Ghenoa graduated as a part of the class of 2008.
